These simple words have been echoing in my mind lately.

Not the tired that comes from lack of sleep, but the exhaustion that settles in when you’ve been pushing hard at the things that don’t come naturally.

For me, it’s business development. You know the drill – it’s part strategy, part numbers game. More reach-outs equal more opportunities. And while I genuinely love what I do and feel comfortable having those conversations once they’re lined up, actually making myself initiate them? That takes a tremendous amount of energy; I sometimes struggle to summon it.

Looking at my calendar, I consistently have “right fit conversations” scheduled – but lately, I’ve felt like I’m losing at the numbers game. And, even I, someone who teaches others how to leverage LinkedIn effectively, get tired of taking action there too.

And you know what? That’s completely normal (or so I tell myself).

As I recently celebrated my 8th anniversary as a business owner, I’ve been reflecting on this journey. What nobody tells you about entrepreneurship is that it’s not just about skill – it’s about endurance.

Even the most passionate business owners face these energy valleys. The difference between those who succeed long-term and those who don’t isn’t that successful people never get tired – it’s that they’ve developed strategies for pushing through these inevitable low periods.

Even in these “tired” times, I still find immense joy in the decision I made to launch my business. The opportunity to do work that brings me satisfaction while genuinely helping others creates a foundation that sustains me through the challenging periods.

When the business development tasks feel overwhelming, I reconnect with my why – Relationships Transcend Transactions.

Helping our clients shift from chasing transactions to nurturing relationships that grow their business – that’s what fuels me to keeps me going.

Energy follows focus.

When you redirect your attention from how tired you feel to why you started this journey in the first place, you tap into reserves you didn’t know you had.

Keep going, even when tired. Especially when tired. That’s when the breakthrough waits just around the corner.
